Unique and fully modernised cave home set over looking the Castril valley of nort eastern Andalusia

Welcome to Cuevas Jimenez, a unique type of holiday accommodation set in the hills above the stunning Castril Valley and surrounded by many of Spain's national parks, with Parque Natural Sierra de Cazorla Spain's largest Natural Park of some 850 Square miles only 30 minutes drive away. An hours drive will bring you to Granada with the stunning Alhambra Palace. The village itself is called Fuente Vera - font of Vera, and is a unspoilt Spanish village with a shop and a bar. Castril the town where the valley gets its name is a beautiful traditional town with stunning views, which offers several places to eat and shop, and the Friday market offers the chance to purchase many bargains, especially in leather footwear.

The caves in which the accommodation is set are over 400 years old, yet offer comfortable modern facilities including an outdoor swimming pool — essential for those warm evenings after a day in the sun following any one of a number of pursuits on offer. Dine on the terraces whilst enjoying the views across the valley and the Rio below. Watch the eagles, buzzards, vultures and many other birds soaring overhead. In the evenings enjoy the glorious sunsets - a real backdrop just begging to be painted.

The activities on offer include riding our Andalucian and Spanish breed horses, mountain biking and canoe hire direct from us. There are four beautiful lakes within 20 mins drive where you can canoe, swim and sail . Pamper yourself in the hot springs near lake Negratin which are available all year round or dine in the beautiful round restaurant Cuevas Jimenez is open 12 months of the year — the weather is clement enough to enjoy a winter daytime temperature of around 12C — ideal for trekking, and in the evenings relax in front of a wood burning stove in your own cave — a real get away from it all holiday.
