Itinerary
& Highlights |

Day 1
Arrival and transfer from the airport to your hotel. The guide will then give you your cold weather clothing and your travelling literature. You will be free to enjoy the sights and sounds of Montreal this evening.
Day 2
In the morning you will go to the bus or train station for the transfer to the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region. Throughout this journey you will witness the landscape change dramatically, a chance to see just how diverse Canada is. You will arrive in the afternoon where you will meet the guides and have a briefing on what to expect over the next week. You will spend the night in a log-made chalet. Breakfast and dinner included.
Day 3
Its introduction day! This morning is spent getting the sleds and dogs ready for the journey. The musher-guides explain how the trip will proceed, and pass on some on their immense store of knowledge about how to drive a dog sled, as well as the safety rules that must be respected. Once everyone is ready, we will take hold of the sleds and set off on the beautiful Saguenay forest trails. You will return to the chalet at around 3pm, giving you a chance to relax before dinner. Full board.
Day 4
After a good dinner and night in the chalet, we are awakened by the noise of our dogs barking, impatient to be off. Once you have eaten breakfast, you will load your sled, harness the dogs and set off to the first shelter. As customary, lunch will be served outside. You’ll end the day with dinner and a good night’s sleep in a rustic camp. Full board.
Day 5
Some quick preparations and you will be ready for a new day, exploring the magnificent white countryside. Having whetted our appetites on grandiose panoramas, you will stop for lunch before once more dashing off through the postcard landscape. In the afternoon, upon our arrival at the campsite, you will help set-up the dogs in their “stake-out”, in time to feed them (and yourself!). You then spend the evening amongst good company, warmed by the tales of both clients and guides. Night in a rustic camp. Full board.
Day 6 and 7
Two more superb days on your dog sled, allowing you to sample the pleasures of the Quebecois landscape, crossing frozen lakes and rivers and perhaps awakening the adventurer dormant inside you. You will spend the night in a rustic camp on day 6 and in a log cabin on day 7. Full board.
Day 8
You will be leaving early in the morning for Montreal. You will have a little time to shop, or to do some sightseeing, then it is time to hop on your transfer back to the airport and catch your flight back to London Heathrow, full of fond memories of what will have been an amazing experience. |
