Perfect learning conditions are key to making surfing fun from the start and our surf camp in Florianopolis, Brazil is blessed with several incredible beginners’ beaches with gentle waves that are perfect for practising your technique and getting accustomed to paddling and the feeling of catching waves for the first time. One of these beaches, Galheta, is located just in front of Nexus’ Brazil surf camp, and several others, including Barra da Lagoa, are just a few minutes away. We know the beaches of Florianopolis inside and out, and will scope out each day which beach has the ideal break appropriate to your level of surfing. Another plus is that much of the year Florianopolis has warm water temperature so that you can surf with no wetsuit if you prefer.
Professional and personalized instruction will be provided daily, something that makes the Nexus Brazil Surf Experience™ stand out from any other surf camp in Brazil. Our instructors are professionally certified and have undergone an intensive surf instructor training program. In addition, all instructors are fluent in English so there won’t be any communication barriers during the learning process.

Learn to surf in Brazil with the pros
Your Nexus Brazil surf instructors will spend a great deal of time with you teaching and helping you improve your technique, including paddling form, board balance, wave positioning, dropping in, getting to your feet, and once you’re comfortable with that, more advanced topics such as carving and cutbacks. So come to Nexus and learn to surf in Brazil with the pros!
Safety is central to everything we do at Nexus. In addition to the safety instruction you will receive prior to entering the water and having direct supervision from certified instructors at all times, you can be assured that you will never be put in conditions that are beyond your skill level while learning to surf in Florianopolis. We also will make sure to match you with the appropriate equipment and correct-sized surf board depending on your size and skill to make sure you get the most enjoyment out of surfing from your very first day in the water.

You will also be but a short drive from two other world-class surf beaches (one of which hosts WCT surf tour events), a great beginner beach with calm waters and gentle swell, as well as the charming nightlife and culinary capital of the island, the "centrinho" of the Lagoa da Conceicao.
