Surfing is the main activity in Bahia Surf Camp but not the only one! The aim of Bahia Surf Camp is to develop a better relationship of the individual with the sport and nature. Something easy to achive since there are so many good waves to catch and have fun with within the camp area.
Surfing
The best wave is on a reef break that receives good rights and lefts, mainly with the South swell. There are also several beach breaks with good formation that break better with East and Southeast swell, from 2 feet up. In these beach break spots with South swell the waves close in too much. Within the neighborhood you can find good formed right hand waves in front of Jardim de Alam and Psiu a spot with beach break and bowled (well dug) waves to both sides. They break with good constancy, from 3 feet up.
Yoga
There is one yoga class included in the package to bring better flexibility to the muscles and greater conscience of the breathing system. Yoga is a vigorous practice that aim working with self-knowledge, as well as the other systems (nervous, respiratory, digestive, circulation, endocrinology, cardiovascular) and organs of the body, through breathing and using contractions.
Salvador and The Pelourinho
Salvador is known for its folkloric and cultural heritage and the" baianos" are glad to show off their both parts of their city. "Alta cidade" is the older portion of the city, where colonial buildings and quaint streets take you back to a previous time. The Pelourinho neighborhood, with pastel colored buildings, is considered the most charming. It's also the center of Salvador's nighlife, with restaurants, bars and folkoric shows. A walking tour is well worth the time. Not far from this neighborhood is an elevator connecting the high city to the "Cidade Baixa", the newer portion of Salvador.
These are just some of the diverse activities you can experience in Bahia Surf Camp. You can also take portuguese classes with an extra charge. You can learn basic portuguese or add some cultural knowledge, like literature, music and dance.
