Denali National Park & Arctic Wilderness
Leaving Anchorage you head for Alaska's premier national park ' Denali. Surrounding North America's highest peak, the park is a haven for bears, caribou, marmots and wolves and offers spectacular hiking. Alaska is all about space and wilderness so you'll spend time exploring the back country of subarctic tundra and lakes - a birder's paradise. Camp on the banks of the Kennicott River in the shadow of Mt. Blackburn and explore the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park on foot.
Valdez & the Kenai Peninsula
Nestled in a glacier-carved fjord is Valdez, the most northerly ice-free port in the western hemisphere and the perfect place from which to explore Prince William Sound. Further west lies the colourful fishing village of Seward and the chance to hike to Exit Glacier. There's also the option to cruise the Kenai Fjords by boat on the lookout for sea mammals and birds.
